ABOUT THE PATTERN

The Starlight Cocoon Suit Jacket is an easy & glamorous sewing pattern based on the cocoon coats of the 1920s fused with the relaxed style of Studio 54 era disco wear. It has a relaxed but elegant fit with a tailored look shawl collar and dramatic three quarter batwing sleeves. It’s softly draped and hangs open across the body to give a flattering silhouette and lots of flexibility in size.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginner sewers - it is fully lined throughout and the simple shape would make this a great first time lining project!

RECOMMENDED FABRIC

Fabric should be non-stretch, not too bulky and have good ‘drape’ - which means it is soft & flowy to handle rather than stiff.

Suitable fabrics include: lightweight/suiting wool, mid weight soft cotton, soft linen, viscose challis, bamboo challis, chambray, soft satin, soft brocade, needle cord and soft velvet
